The Secret Behind the Natural Sex Reversal in Rice Field Eel (Monopterus albus) Remains Unknown- Crimson Publishers

The Secret Behind the Natural Sex Reversal in Rice Field Eel (Monopterus albus) Remains Unknown by Ayah Rebhi Hilles in Advancesin Complementary & Alternative Medicine- Crimson Publishers_ Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine

Monopterus albus, the rice field eel (Zuiew), it is under Synbranchidae family; Synbranchiformes order. It lives in the rice fields, swamps, and muddy ponds in different Asian countries. M.albus is a hermaphrodite and undergoes sex reversal naturally Female are intersexes, they have both female and male sex organs with oocytes and spermatocytes in their gonads, and then they become males [1]. The sex reversal of M.albus normally happens after spawning when the eel grows to 35 to 45cm in length [2]. There are many researchers studied the principle of natural sex reversal in M.albus, one of these studies says that this process based on genetic switch-mechanism which the differentiation and maturation of female germ-cells would cease then the epigenesis of male germ-cells and the interstitial Leydig"s cells started, this sexuality shifting from female to male involve the stimulation of some regulators and the mediation of biochemical components and physiological events and environmental factors might also play a role in this series of events [3]. In another study, it has been reported that M.albus undergoes reversal of sex from the female to male genetically which involve the expression of regulatory genes.

Is Magic a Serious Research Topic? Reflexions on Some French Students’ Remarks about Magic in Psychology_Crimson Publishers

Is Magic a Serious Research Topic? Reflexions on Some French Students’ Remarks about Magic in Psychology by Pascal Morchain in Psychology and Psychotherapy: Research Study: Crimson Publishers_Journal of Psychology and Psychotherapy

This paper investigates the reasons for which some students in psychology curriculum seem to be not interested in the theme of magic as a research topic. Contextual factors are evoked, but this apparent disinterest is also interpreted in terms of representations of psychology, representations of magic, historical factors, and in terms of social value of the topic. Is magic a serious research topic? This question seems a bit weird. Obviously, in psychology show magic is a very serious topic. It deals with psychological processes, and with social interactions. In the late 19th century and early 20th century, famous psychologists as Binet [1,2]; Jastrow [3]; Triplett [4] use magical performances to understand psychological functioning. In 1999 Lamont & Wiseman [5] published Magic in theory, a theoretical book analysing the art of magic. Between 1887 and 1999, only 12 empirical articles about perception of magic in adults were published; they were 55 between 2000 and 2016 [6]. Nowadays, this field is sometimes called “science of magic” [7,8] or, most specifically, “neuromagic” [9]. In psychology, magic can be studied as any other object, or can be a mean to study psychological processes [10].

New Medical Therapies for The Treatment of Myelomeningocele_ Crimson Publishers

New Medical Therapies for The Treatment of Myelomeningocele by Aamir Jalal Al Mosawi* in Crimson Publishers: Open access journal of surgery impact factor

Background: There is no curative or satisfactory effective therapy for the nervous tissue damage associated with myelomeningocele which generally results in a serious disability. The aim of this paper is to describe retrospectively the treatment of four patients with myelomeningocele, three of them were treated with new therapies.
Patients and methods: During one-year period from June,2018 to June 2019, four patients with myelomeningocele were observed. Three of the patients were referred for us for treatment and received new therapies aiming at treating the nervous tissue damage associated with myelomeningocele and improving the associated neurological dysfunction. The fourth observed patient was treated by other physicians mainly with physiotherapy and received no specific medical therapy. All the patients had hydrocephalus of variable severity and three of them have already been treated with a ventriculo-peritoneal shunt. Parenteral cerebrolysin was used in three patients with the aim of regenerating the spinal cord cells. Nandrolone decanoate was used in one patient with aim of strengthening muscles of legs.
Result: Treatment of the three patients resulted in a significant improvement that has never been reported before with this condition, and without the occurrence of any side effects. The fourth patients who was not treated by us didn’t show any improvement.
Conclusion: The use of new therapies for the treatment of myelomeningocele was found to be very useful and without the occurrence of any side effects. Study of the use of these therapies in a larger number of patients is recommended.

Virtual Crossmatch in the Context of Kidney Transplantation-Crimson Publishers

Virtual Crossmatch in the Context of Kidney Transplantation by Beatriz Chamun Gil in
Experimental Techniques in Urology & Nephrology: Journal of Nephrology

The patient survival is strongly influenced by the presence of DSA [1-5]. Currently, Virtual Cross Match (VXM) has been used to predict the real crossmatch results by Complement-DependentCytotoxicity (CDC) and Flow Cytometry crossmatch (FCXM) [6-10]. VXM compare donor HLA antigens with anti-HLA antibodies in recipient serum. The antibodies are detected by the Single Antigen (SA) assay, in which each bead is coated with a single HLA specificity, detecting the precise anti-HLA antibodies and their levels, allowing predict reactions against donor HLA antigens. However, SA assays has some limitations that can, difficult the VXM interpretation [11]. The SA assay show higher sensitivity whereas the CDC and FCXM are specific against donor HLA molecules, which suggests that methods may be complementary [7-10].

The Role of Genetic Mutation in Gene GBE1 In Induce Glycogen Storage Type IV Syndrome-Crimson Publishers

The Role of Genetic Mutation in Gene GBE1 In Induce Glycogen Storage Type IV Syndrome by Shahin Asadi in Intervention in Obesity & Diabetes: Crimson Publishers-American Journal of Diabetes Obesity

Glycogen type IV storage syndrome is a hereditary genetic disorder caused by excessive accumulation of glycogen sugar complexes in the body’s cells. The type of muscular nervous system is the most severe type of glycogen storage syndrome type IV, whose symptoms develop before birth and are usually fatal. Type IV glycogen storage syndrome is caused by gene mutations of GBE1, which is based on the short arm of chromosome number 3 as 3p12.2.

Minding a Healthy Body: Clarifying Media Roles as Primers in the Rating of Body Satisfaction in a Variety of Social Categories_Crimson Publishers

Minding a Healthy Body: Clarifying Media Roles as Primers in the Rating of Body Satisfaction in a Variety of Social Categories by Sebastian G in Psychology andPsychotherapy Research Study: Crimson Publishers_Journal of Psychology andPsychotherapy

In current literature surrounding body image and media, there is an overwhelming sense of the responsibility of media as a means of skewing expectations of beauty. This skewing process has been explained by a multitude of theories; however, the Social Comparison Theory and the Tripartite Model generate an explanation by both the means and the value of media functioning as a prime in the perception of body image. However, in contemporary studies, findings challenging this this responsibility have emerged.

This study attempts to clarify the immediate role that media plays in the processes which generate body image satisfaction in individuals. This is done via chi-square tests for independence on the 360 questionnaire participants responses regarding their pre-priming body satisfaction, prime category (Overweight, Underweight and Healthy Eating), post priming body satisfaction and the socially descriptive categories of participants. These results indicate that there is observed relationship between media inspired primes and the body satisfaction rating of participants. When compared toward social categories, only individuals diagnosed with a Body Image Disorder demonstrate a significant relationship with priming and changing body satisfaction ratings. The implications of these findings to existing literature is discussed and limitations are addressed.

Distribution Analysis of Rock Fragments Size Based on the Digital Image Processing and the Kuz-Ram Model Cas of Jebel Medjounes Quarry-Crimson Publishers

Distribution Analysis of Rock Fragments Size Based on the Digital Image Processing and the Kuz-Ram Model Cas of Jebel Medjounes Quarry by Mohamed F in Aspects in Mining & Mineral Science: Crimson Publishers-Mining & Mineral Sciencejournals
Blasting is the most productive excavation method in hard rock mining. In quarries, to remove the mother rock from in-situ and crush into the desired size is realized by bench blasting method. The latter more used in our country because it is a very profitable method. In the quarry of Jebel Medjounes in Ain El-Kebira eastherne Algeria (Setif), the fragmentation of the rocks is done by blasting. The primary purpose of blasting is to fragment rock, and there are significant rewards for delivering a fragmentation size range. Various models have been put forward over the years, attempting to analyse the size distribution resulting from blast designs such as Kuz-Ram model and digital image processing (SplitDesktop® software). The Kuz–Ram model is possibly the most widely used approach to estimating fragmentation from blasting, and the most important function of Kuz–Ram is to guide the blasting engineer in thinking through the effect of various parameters when attempting to improve blasting effects.

Health Related Quality of Life and Wellness of Aging LGBT Populations in Wilmington and the Cape Fear Coast_Crimson publishers

Health Related Quality of Life and Wellness of Aging LGBT Populations in Wilmington and the Cape Fear Coast by Noell L Rowan in Geriatrics Studies

Estimates consistently state that by 2030, 20% of the U.S. population will be age 65 and older, a total of 70 million elders [1,2]. Within this group, older LGBT persons are predicted to number 1.75 to 3.5 million, "with approximately 500,000 gay men and lesbians turning age 50 each year" [1,3]. Goldsen & Kim [4] report an estimate of more than 2.4 million adults in the United States ages 50 and older identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender (LGBT). Cultural ageism and heterosexism, along with fear of discrimination at the hands of health care providers in inpatient and outpatient, short-term as well as long-term care settings, can and often do have a direct negative effect on the quality of life of older LGBT persons [1,3,5].

The Effectiveness of Energy Conservation Techniques in Reducing Fatigue in Clients with Multiple Sclerosis: Crimson Publishers

The Effectiveness of Energy ConservationTechniques in Reducing Fatigue in Clients with Multiple Sclerosis by Sarsak HI* in Researches in Arthritis & Bone Study Crimson Publishers: Journal of Bone Disease

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic, inflammatory disease of the central nervous system. MS is most commonly seen in younger adults Mathiowetz [1]. It is one of the most common causes of disability in the United States. Fatigue, spasticity, tremors, weakness, visual problems, cognitive problems are all common symptoms of MS. Fatigue is the most frustrating symptom that can lead to disability. A patient with MS with fatigue is not able to perform daily activities and occupational role efficiently Mathiowetz [2]. There are various types of medications and non-pharmocological treatment that have been used Sauter [3]. Energy Conservation (EC) techniques, is a type of non-pharmocological treatment. EC techniques mainly consist of education on rest, modification in activities and environment, balancing work and self-care, education on ergonomics and body mechanics. EC techniques are designed in such a way that they help MS clients to use their limited energy in a productive way Vanage [4]. The purpose of this study was to review the evidence available regarding the effectiveness of the EC treatment on clients with MS. For the purpose of this study, we created a clinical/research PICO question (Population, Intervention, Comparison, and Outcome), a key to the evidence-based decision Richardson
