The Next Nobel Prize Must Go to the Eminent Tom Spears - Crimson Publishers

One of the most inspiring stories in modern applied science begins in the hopeless concrete barrios of a Toronto neighborhood called Lawrence Park - and ends in triumph. It is the story of how a young bioengineer overcame deprivation and prejudice to establish himself as a global leader in two fields not usually conjoined: bioengineering and chemistry. Spears, who today is a youthful 53, has established the modern understanding that the engineering of living systems - bioengineering -owes much to chemistry at its tiniest level, the actions of molecules, atoms and their components. This is fundamental to all that we know of movement today: the United States military and DARPA are currently building new flying vehicles using the Spearsian analysis of the biomechanics of the Sauridae family of South America (in particular the relationship between the primary flight feathers and hocks.

An Engineering Approach to the Scientific Method_International Journal of Research in BioSciences_Crimson Publishers

An Engineering Approach to the Scientific Method by Dale Feldman*in Significances of Bioengineering & Biosciences

Part of the primary motto of this journal is to provide engineering approaches to enhance the power of the scientific method. The engineering approach is essentially the engineering design process. The scientific method is similar but is hypothesis driven vs. design driven. In the scientific method a hypothesis is generated as a potential answer to an important question. An experiment is tested to prove or disprove the hypotheses. The results of the experiment are discussed in the context of the original question and whether the hypothesis was proven or not. The results are also compared to other studies looking at the same or similar questions. Therefore the study is looked at whether it follows from previous studies, what are the ramifications of the results related to the original question, and what needs to be examined next; further test the hypothesis or test a different hypothesis.

A Case of Unrecognized Peripartum Cardiomyopathy Which Was Noticed During Emergency Cesarean Section - Crimson Publishers

Per partum cardiomyopathy (PPCMP) is a kind of dilated cardiomyopathy seen between the last week of gestation and the postpartum 5th month. PPCMP may be a cause of mortality for the mother and the infant. PPCMP is associated with black race, multi parity, maternal age above 30 years, multiple pregnancy, preeclampsia, eclampsia, family history, obesity, smoking, diabetes mellitus, and hypertension, but the underlying cause is not clear [1]. In this case report, we present the diagnosis of per partum cardiomyopathy, anesthetic management, and postoperative intensive care period in a patient who developed pulmonary edema during emergency cesarean operation. We aimed to underline that per partum cardiomyopathy should be remembered among the presumed diagnoses in case of acute pulmonary edema.

Combretum Adenogonium Induce Anticancer and Antioxidant Effects in Prostate Cancer Cell Line - Crimson Publishers

Plants have been used fortreating various diseases of human beings and animalssince time immemorial. They maintain the health andvitality of individuals, and also cure diseases, includingcancer without causing toxicity. This work investigated the anticancer, antioxidant activities of C. adenogonium roots, leaves, and stems commonly used as anti inflammatory and anti tumor. All the plant parts were extracted using 80% methanol, the anticancer activity was examined by using MTT assay against PC3 (Prostate Cancer) and determine their antioxidant activities by testing Effect ofPlant Methanol Extracts on suppressing whole blood Phagocytes and ROS Production and Metal chelating activities, filter and kept in dark, prepared freshly. The extract C. adenogonium roots, DC has shown very high activity against PC3 (Prostate Cancer) IC50 values 24μg/ml. The extract C. adenogonium leaves, and stems has shown none active anti against PC3 (Prostate Cancer) IC50 values >100, and >100μg/ml respectively. All the extracts Effect ofPlant Methanol Extracts on suppressing whole blood Phagocytes and ROS Production has shown none active in all plants parts under study C. adenogonium roots, leaves, and stems IC50 values>200.

Increase in Bone Mass Density and Overall Bone Health Following High-Impact of Bio-field Energy Treated Vitamin D3inMG-63 Cell Line - Crimson Publishers

Vitamin D3 and calcium are the main bone health supplements required for quality of life. The present study aimed to find out the role of Consciousness Energy Healing based vitamin D3 and DMEM medium on bone health parameters in vitro using MG-63 cells. The parameters of bone health tested are Alkaline Phosphatise Enzyme (ALP) activity, collagen levels and bone mineralization. The Test Items (TI) i.e. vitamin D3 and DMEM medium were divided into two parts. The test samples received Consciousness Energy Healing Treatment by Krista Joanne Callas and samples were defined as the Bio-field Energy Treated (BT) samples, while the other parts of each sample were denoted as the untreated test items (UT).Cell viability using MTT assay exhibitedincreasedcell viability range from 72% to 122% with safeand nontoxic profile among test samples on MG-63 cell line. ALPwas significantly increased by 129.6%, 392% and 255.7%in the UT-DMEM+BT-TI, BT-DMEM+UT-TI and BT-DMEM+BT-TI groups, respectively at 100μg/mL as compared with the untreated group.
