Abstract
Food
science and nutrition science are equally important and mutually dependent
scientific disciplines. Due to demographic transition, older population has
increased, and it has been observed that there has been a transition in terms
of caregivers. Although there is uniformity in nature and habit, heterogeneity
in terms of social, economic, physical
and food frequency among the older is observed. Thus, it is necessary to study
the food habit and nutritional status of the aged persons. Besides conceptual
study, this paper highlights the impact of food science and nutrition on aging
and age-associated diseases
in general and in Old Aged Homes in Purulia, India.
