Correlation Between Degree of Preoperative Anxiety and Postoperative Pain in Patients Under Elective Surgery_ Crimson Publishers

Correlation Between Degree of Preoperative Anxiety and Postoperative Pain in Patients Under Elective Surgery by Lucía Alvarez Bastidas* in Developments in Anaesthetics & Pain Management_ Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences Review and Research

Abstract

Introduction: Preoperative anxiety frequently encountered in patients before surgery, contributes and/or predisposes to different undesirable effects in the postoperative period of these patients, highlighting postoperative pain although a close relationship has not been established yet. There are a large number of validated scales that help to assess the degree of anxiety and pain that each patient will experience during their surgical procedure

Objective: To determine the degree of correlation between preoperative anxiety and the level of postoperative pain in patients under elective surgery.

Material and methods: Correlation study carried out in HGR No.1 IMSS Obregón, Sonora from January 2016 to May 2106, in patients electively programmed for orthopedic and orthopedic surgery. Measuring level of anxiety with Amsterdam scale and postoperative pain with visual analogue scale.

Results: There is a positive relationship between the perceived pain of patients with respect to the preoperative anxiety suffered

Conclusion: Preoperative anxiety is directly linked to the postoperative pain of the patient undergoing elective traumatology surgery.

The Need for Focused Mental Health Treatment for Children with Development Disabilities_ Crimson Publishers

The Need for Focused Mental Health Treatment for Children with Development Disabilities by Ida A Chauvin* in Degenerative Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities_ Journal of Intellectual and Developmental Disability

Abstract
According to the federal centers for Disease Control and Prevention, developmental disabilities affect one in 7 children in the United States, with another fifteen percent of American children suffering from conditions such as autism and ADHD (2011). These developmental disabilities often cooccur with mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. There is a serious need for focused mental health treatment for the developmentally disabled population and as well as training for clinicians who work with this population. A brief look into providing services for this population is provided

Introduction
Providing focused mental health treatment to children with development disabilities children with developmental disabilities present challenges for staff, counselors, and all mental health professionals. Due to the heterogeneous nature of the population with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), determining the rates of co morbidity with mental illness can be difficult. Reviews of the literature Einfield [1], suggest that psychological disorder rates in developmentally delayed children may range between 30 to 50%. Disorders which may be co morbid with IDD include oppositional defiant disorder Chritensen [2], disruptive behavior disorders Baker & Blacher [3], attention deficit hyperactivity disorder Baker [4]. Unfortunately, research regarding mental illness, psychopathology, and treatment in this population is scant [5,6], despite the evidence suggesting that mental health issues cause significant impairment in emotional, social, and educational realms of functioning Soltau [7]. Having an unmet need for health or mental health services has been related to negative outcomes for the child and family Lindley

Cognitive Impairment in Patients Operated for Non-traumatic Intracranial Hemorrhage_ Crimson Publishers

Cognitive Impairment in Patients Operated for Non-traumatic Intracranial Hemorrhage by NE Ivanova* in Developments in Clinical & Medical Pathology_ Journal of Medical Pathology

Abstract
The article is devoted to the peculiarities of cognitive status in patients operated for non-traumatic intracranial hemorrhages. An assessment of the severity of cognitive impairment was carried out in the observations of different etiology hemorrhages. An analysis of the relationship between the localization and the hematoma, and the severity of disorders of higher cortical functions was carried out. Understanding the cognitive deficiency patterns in neurosurgical patients is important for effective rehabilitation measures

Topicality
BBlood stroke is the most important cause of disability occurrence in the population of developed countries. Non-traumatic intracranial hemorrhages compose 10 to 20% of cerebral circulation disorders [1]. Only 12% - 39% of patients can subsequently return to fullfledged life after a blood stroke [2]. One of the adverse effects of non-traumatic intracranial hemorrhage is the impairment of higher cortical functions. Post-stroke cognitive disorders are moderately pronounced in 37-71% of cases, and they reach the degree of dementia in 4-40% of cases [3]. At that, they are heterogeneous in a pathogenic and clinical way, which affects their curability and prognosis. This study objective is to assess the severity of cognitive impairment in patients operated for non-traumatic intracranial hemorrhages of different etiology and localization

Opinion on Nanoparticles for Cancer Remediation_ Crimson Publishers

Opinion on Nanoparticles for Cancer Remediation by Ahmed M Abu Dief * in Determinations in Nanomedicine & Nanotechnology_ Journal of Nanotechnology

Abstract

Since the innovation of nanomedicine decades ago, significant advances have been made, especially with cancer as an objective. Nanoparticles in cancer remediation intends to cover different important aspects in this field including development of nanocarrier, delivery of gene, intrinsically active nanoparticles (NPs), microenvironment of tumor, toxicity, and immunology. The mostly applied biocompatible nanocarriers in clinical experiments are lipid, polymer, and protein-based materials. Polymeric micelles are a common type of nanocarriers for drug delivery due to their multifunctionality, controllable release, and biocompatibility. Doxorubicin as a model drug was successfully loaded into the micelles and presented a complete and rapid drug release at pH=5.0. The drug loaded NPs had high anti-tumor activity to kill the cancer cells but minimum toxicity to ordinary cells. Targeting dendritic cells (DCs) by nanotechnology attitudes as a promising delineation for immunotherapy of cancer. The physicochemical properties of NPs effects on their interactions with DCs, thus modifying the immune outcome of DCs by changing their functions in the processes of antigen, homing, maturation processing, and presentation of antigen. The microenvironment of tumor plays a pivotal role in adjusting distribution of nano-chemotherapeutics and their biological effects. Nanotechnology has also shown different advantages over widely used conventional methods in uro-oncology. For example, different types of NPs enhance the solubility of poorly soluble drugs, and multifunctional NPs have good specificity toward bladder, renal, and prostate cancer. Moreover, nanotechnology can also merge with other novel technologies to further enhance efficacy. As our understanding of nanotechnologies grows, extra opportunities to enhance the treatment and diagnosis of urological cancer are expected to arise. As attention of the toxicity of nanomaterials are growing, a safety estimation becomes a routine assessment nowadays as a necessary for nanomedicine. In recent years, nanotechnology has shown many advantages over traditional approaches for cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, and clinical trials are being implemented every year. However, challenges are still overwhelming especially in human experiments, regulatory, and formulation issues. With new advancements in biology, nanoscience, materials chemistry, and medicine, one can envision that devastating cancer will be curable some day and, in that achievement, the nanoscale approaches will have played an important role

Development of Health Resort Casino System in Integrative Medicine_ Crimson Publishers

Development of Health Resort Casino System in Integrative Medicine by Dzhamal Mutagirov* in Integrative Journal of Conference Proceedings_ Journal of Scientific Conference Proceedings

Abstract

World monitors the continued strengthening of the international tension and continuing attacks some countries ‘governing elites’ to each other with astonishment and concern. This occurs under soothing statements about “end of the cold war”. The situation is like such of 1930 ‘s when, supposedly, also “there wasn’t any war” but, as Sir Winston Churchill [1] admitted later, “English-speaking peoples through their unwisdom carelessness and good nature allowed the wicked to rearm” [1-6]. The 75 anniversaries of the victory over fascism will be celebrated soon. Antifascist struggle had initiated the Global democratic revolution. Over the years, humankind has committed grand gallop forward, ended with colonialism, with external manifestations of racism, apartheid, had adopted the International Code of Human and Peoples ‘ Rights, committed scientific, technical, cultural, information and other revolutions. All this had enabled him to achieve very remarkable progress in all spheres of life. However, at the turn of the Millennia the story took an unexpected turn, the meaning of which remains an enigma. Using historical, logical and comparative methods allows to reveal the enigma

Introduction
According to philosophy, history develops in cycles and on the ‘law of negation of negation’. Man craves some new, but the “new” often turns out to be worse than the old one. This is particularly noticeable in some Eurasian countries, where historical processes have taken the wrong trend - backwards to the Middle Ages. Their authorities are attempting to replace the republican form of governments with the absolutist and dictatorial. These actions, inevitably doomed for failure in the age of universal literacy and Global democratic revolution, are trying to enforce by resurrection and dissemination of the ideology of clericalism, for what they are destroying the existing progressive secular educational systems. The authoritarian powers are trying to justify this reversal off with far-fetched judgments that ‘the Liberal idea is outdated’ because ‘due to liberalism population and the elite have been divided’, ‘the governing elites broke away from the people’, etc. [2]. In fact, all these allegations are designed to mislead people and, at the same time, they demonstrate full ignorance of the ‘authorities’ and their adepts both the realities in the world, and about the true influence of the ideas of human rights, democracy and the rule of law to humankind’s progress
